Cooking home burgers, Готовим домашние бургеры

En// This is my first post about how I cook burgers. Method of cooking I spied from Jamie Oliver on TV and I added some my tastes. So, we need:
  • humburder buns
  • mince
  • tomato
  • cheese
  • red onion
  • salad or Chinese cabbage
  • garlic
  • ketchup and mayonnaise
  • wine vinegar or any other (I used apple vinegar)

En// Make cutlet of mince and fry for a couple of minutes on each side, then put the slice of cheese on the cutlet, cover it with foil and fry a few more minutes to the cheese is melted. After that lightly fry the bun and put a little ketchup. Rub the garlic on a fine grater, mix it with mayonnaise and spread on the bun. While the cutlets are roasting, cut the onion into rings and pickle in the apple vinegar. And then, do everything like shown in the pictures and video below.
Bon appetit!

Boston, MA

Boston is the city of students and old english architecture. I arrived to Boston's airport at 5 p.m. and soon, after two hours of road to my hostel, I was on the place. It was Hostelling International, which was reserved before on booking.com. This hostel was new and very clean.

After check-in, I went to South Bus Terminal to buy the ticket to New York City (The ticket costs about 35 $), and then, I walked around the city about two hours. When I had walked to the hostel I came at a bar to drink some beer. I recommend "Boston Lager", I liked it so much.

In the morning, after breakfast, which was the part of room's cost , I had gone to walk. The start of walking, length of 20 km, was Harvard University. Through MIT and Nort End I walked to downtown of the city. North End is an old and very beautiful district of Boston. There are many beautiful old english streets and houses.

There are The Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Parks (the map), which pass through much of the city, with small fountains like this.  Now, this is my favorite city of United States. In the evening I had to go to bus terminal and then ride to New York City.

Rhodes, Greece

Rhodes is an island of Greece. The capital city is Rhodes. I've been there in June 2012. When I have been in Rhodes, I rented a car and I drove about 350 km around the island. Our hotel was in Faliraki, which is near from the capital city of island. I have rented Kia Picanto for 3 days and paid 85 euro without gasoline. Rhodes Map.

There are a few castles like Monolithos, Kastelos, Kamiros and Lindos. The last one is not interesting for me, because it was being rebuilt. And you have to pay for entrance 6 euro. But the white houses of the city, which are located at the foot of the castle, make a very beautiful panorama.

Monolitos and Kastelos

Also I went to the Valley of Butterflies. Paid entrance is 5 euro and there is a lot of steep ascents. But you get enjoyment from a beautiful nature. The island has many beautiful bays and mountains.

I learned this session...

My study in IELP has been lasting for 2 months. The time spent in the University of New Orleans has been pretty eventful. During this time I learned many things. I've had classes every weekdays. I improved my knowledge in grammar, writing, listening, reading and speaking. Also I have read a book — "Tom Sawyer" in my reading class. Two times per week I write posts in my blog, which improve my writing skills. This has been my homework in grammar and writing classes. During this time I met many interesting people from different countries. It was a good experience of living in foreign country.

About Something...

Our teacher gave us a homework, so we have to write a post about something I have always wanted to do and why. But I don't know what to write because I have a lot of desires. I just set myself some goals and doing that I can do in the near future. After, I do a next goal. I think, the most important thing in my life, what I wanted to do, is to be a professional illustrator and designer. I can bring to perfection my skills during of my life. I love my job and I try to do that better ever time. I've been loved to draw since I was in high school. But usually I've drawn only cars, especially Ferrari, because I like these cars. Below, I would like to show my old illustrations.

An Embarrassing Moment in My Life

During our life we do a lot of things, after which we are sorry about it. But sometimes we just remember with a smile. One of them was in this year. My girlfriend and I have been in the concert of Jenia Lubich and Nouvelle Vague. It was called "Dawn of Innocence". The concert was awesome. After the concert, Jenia Lubich signed autographs. She gave to us her new album on the CD with her sign and we went to exit. But after a few minutes she came to us with the security guard and she asked: "Did you pay for the CD?" We answered: "No", because we didn't know that we had to pay. She apologized for it that didn't say about it. Then we returned the CD to her and we apologized too. It was the embarrassing moment for us and for Jenia. Now we remember this moment with a laugh.

And below is the concert of Nouvelle Vague. I'm sorry for quality, I don't have a professional camera.

The Sketchbook Project 2012

It is a global project of Art House Co-op, where anyone can participate. You pay for participation in project $25.00, they send you an empty sketchbook and you have to fill it. And then, you have to return your filled sketchbook. After that, all sketchbooks are included in one collection at The Brooklyn Art Library and then they go to the world trip. This traveling exhibition visits most of the U.S. cities, a few cities of Canada, London and Melbourne. After the world trip, all sketchbooks will returned to The Brooklin Art Library for keeping and anyone can come there and view any sketchbook.

I chose a free theme - "This is a sketchbook...". I used graphite pencils, color pencils, ink and watercolor. I filled my sketchbook for 3 months. Below are pictures and video from my sketchbook. And here you can view all my illustrations - http://bdis.ru/Sketchbook-Project-2012

My Favorite Song

I always like to listen to music. Music helps me in my work, for relax and just makes my life better. I cannot work without music. Music makes my imagination better and it is most important in my work. I prefer many kinds of music — post-rock, ambient, chillout, etc. I have a lot of favorite songs and this is one of those. It's the punk-rock band — Blink 182. They are from sunny California. I would like to go to their concert. Second movie is another band  Sigur Ros.

One Day in Vienna

My trip to Vienna was not planned. When I was in Prague and I had one free day I decided to go to Vienna with my friends. We took a bus from Flora Bus Terminal and we went to Vienna. Unfortunately, that day was some catholic holyday, and stores, cafes and some places were closed. But we just walked through city.

This Austrian city is very beautiful and differs from Prague and other cities. But there are my favourite gothic cathedrals and houses with tiled roofs. There is St. Stephen's Cathedral in city center.

This cathedral looks very fantasticly and fabulously. It is the most big and awesome cathedral which I saw in my life. There are a colorful mosaic and a big organ with amazing music inside this cathedral.

I would like to come back in this city and stay for more days to get to know Vienna better.
